A trio of street artists, Jan Pancíř, Tereza Podová, and Jan Lukeš have been adorning walls and other surfaces of the Czech capital with colorful and eye-catching tile mosaic artwork.

They call their movement Free Mozaik, that they started around 3 years ago after these longtime friends took a trip to Barcelona Spain, where they got the inspiration from. The Spanish city that is well known for it's architecture and mosaic (including street art mosaic) gave the group an idea to bring something similar back to their hometown.

Pancíř, Podová, and Lukeš all have day jobs and the mosaic art skills they have are self-taught. Free Mozaik is truly collaborative, according to their own words and the inspiration for their mosaic murals can come from anywhere.

The group installed their first masterpiece in a park after getting the required permission from the city authorities. Since then the group has continued to add other art mosaic pieces around the city; many public and permitted, some privately commissioned and even a few smaller illegal ones (staying true to their free street artist spirit).
