THE TILE FILES: Stefania - a Maraic Mosaic Project
Juliette Wiley is amazing interior designer who worked on the guest bath (see image) for a client in Nevada. The customer was looking for a marble flooring with a subtle pop of color for their overall white bathroom interior. So, Juliette, contacted MEC for a marble flooring with something extra.
Handmade mosaic projects is our forte so it was a delightful processes coming up with the perfect design in collaboration with Juliette, who wanted something classic yet luxurious. The customer shortlisted their preferred designs to half a dozen patterns and our design team prepared renders with each of the patterns to help Juliette’s client visualize the choices more realistically.
Stefania, a European-inspired orange peel pattern from MEC's exclusive Maraic range, was a clear winner. A team of expert Italian-trained craftsmen then fashioned the design into a reality, by cutting and arranging each individual marble tile manually to complete the mosaic flooring.
The polished-finish mosaic recently reached its home and was installed wonderfully. Stefania, truly completes the interior like a missing piece of a puzzle.
