"Simple, monochromatic kitchens have had a good long run, so we will be gravitating toward making a little more impact in their kitchens, whether that's with bolder color choices or graphic tiles. Either way, I predict we will be seeing more pop and punch in kitchens!"
- Sklar Design's Amy Sklar
This is a design trend we are 100% on board with. The classic subway kitchen tiles and neutral backsplashes may work in most of the cases. It is true, but how about using that space and making it one of your the focal points of you kitchen. You can easily get a spectacular tile artwork customized according to your space and give that wall an extra pop of color.
Here are some brilliant backsplash tile ideas you'll love:
Gallone - Random chevron mosaic made with a refreshing green palette stained glass water-jet cut tiles. Glass tiles work perfectly as backsplash, they are fairly easy to clean and refract light wonderfully, making the overall space brighter.
Lagom - Inspired from the intricately hand painted blue and white ceramic pottery, this PIXL mosaic art by MEC has a subtle twist; the background and pattern colors have been delightfully swapped.
Kore - Thousands of tiny glass mosaic tiles arranged together on a neat grid to create a scenic mural. Pine green leaves are set against a dark background. Some faded leaves are added to add an additional 3D depth to the design.
Ines - Adorn your walls or backsplash area with this enthralling stained glass tile geometric design. The smooth curves and bold edges together create a wonderful pattern.
Ruota - Another possibility is pairing up a bold marble stone mosaic border strip with plain tiles to create a truly unique backsplash.
Versace Fresco - Classic Greek Border with a refreshing twist. You just can’t go wrong with a Versace square, so we added new and exciting twist in the form of a simple vine to represent liveliness.
So maybe it is time to swap the standard-issue subway tiles for something new and colorful. Make a statement and don't be afraid to make a few splashes - it is the "back-splash wall" after all!
